she just got a new toy..
Lumix LX-3 .. so that she can enjoy photography like i do :)

i went to ha long bay.. and bought ocean resort tour .. a tiny private resort island stay in ha long bay..
it was fine for the first day.. but the storm came in.. a big typhoon..
the ocean is swelling with waves.. all the ships are anchored.. cant do anything.. stuck on the island.. for 2 more nite..
me, my cousin and this nice french couples.. who also happens to be artists.. we drink and we chat..
the third day, i couldnt take it anymore.. i have a flight to catch in Hanoi back to singapore via bangkok.. so i demand the tour company to find ways to make my way back hanoi..
they asked me to board on a small boat.. which is rocking crazy even when its docked in the wharf.. so i told them, i need a bigger boat..
after much arguments ( * this is me), they got us a fishing boat..
its cool.. and its very fast.. and we are on the way back..
Just a candid shot with EOS 100D and Kit Lens combo indoor.
I am starting to like the new kit lens EFS 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS.
The color is quite amazing.. and Bokeh and DOF is not as bad as I am expected. The Image Stabilization works and this image is sharp at 1/6th second. Also it's still very clean at this ISO1600.
If you're looking for a budget DSLR system, EOS 1000D/ Rebel XS with Kit lens is really good value for money.
My friend Bryan and his big black frame new glasses.. ( with ice kachang of course )
is that a new trend now? i used to have them when i was young.. hated that.. :D
Me and my wife went to shoot this wedding last weekend..
Lots of work.. but its generally very rewarding to see the photos afterwards..
I used 3 cameras.. and learned a few lessons from this shoot..
I bought a new EOS 5D (Full Frame) a few days before this shoot. Usually I shoot RAW exclusively.. but the higher resolution of 5D makes 2 of my 2GB CF holds only 100+ frames each.. and during the event, I switched to JPEG on my 5D. Even though I was shooting JPEG , the picture quality and noise level from 5D is amazingly good.
The other 2 camera were on JPEG and on slightly different color stlye setting as well as in camera clock. The result is it takes more time for me to do the grading to match the colors.. and I cant really sort the pictures by date/time anymore. Next time, I will sync all the camera clocks at one-go commando style. :)
And I didnt know the wedding venue has indoor restaurant. As I already sold my strobes and didnt rent one, I had to shoot a lot of pics with ISO1600 and sometime 3200. As the restaurants has very harsh spotlights, I had to boosted the fill light in Lightroom afterwards.. making the noise very visible and ugly.. then.. Noise Ninja came to save the day..
Thanks to my lovely wife and all the people who helped me out and esp Thi Ha and Ma Wai for trusting me to do the photoshoot on their special day.
Simple casual portrait shot at McDonald .. West Coast ..
